Susan Sontag believed that to photograph is to participate in another’s mortality, vulnerability, and mutability.
She wrote: “Precisely by ME slicing out this moment and freezing it, all photographs testify to time’s relentless melt.” This year we have shared stories from around the globe, from places as far-reaching as Namibia and Iceland. For our 2016 travel round-up we’ve selected photographs whose beauty and intent we believe make them pieces worthy of looking back on. We’re sure you’ll agree.
